The National Park Service Regions 3, 4, & 5 (formerly Midwest Region) is beginning a search for a suitable candidate to fill a 12 month Student Conservation Association (SCA) internship in Omaha, Nebraska. The internship will focus on verifying, collecting, and preparing cultural landscapes and historic structures data related to Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act. There is a strong data entry component to the position. The internship does not include design work. The ability to compose clear, well researched, narrative descriptions for the region’s cultural landscapes and historic structures is the critical skill that will be evaluated among the applicants.
A suitable candidate would have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Landscape Architecture, Historic Architecture, Historic Preservation, or a similar career field, with a particular interest in the documentation and preservation of cultural landscapes and historic structures. SCA compensation includes a living, housing, and transportation stipend. The start date is negotiable, but could be as soon as January 2020 once required and approved SCA and federal security clearances are received.
Regions 3, 4, & 5 would like to hear from anyone potentially interested in the internship before, or by close of business, December 16. Please contact Roberta Young, LCS/CLI Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org to indicate your interest and share your qualifications.
